MiCableOnda is a mobile application that gives Cable Onda customers a simple, intuitive way to manage all of their telecommunications services—television, internet, and telephony—from one place. The app empowers users with real-time service updates, seamless payment options, and direct access to technical support, eliminating the need to call customer service or navigate multiple platforms.
CONCEPT
The goal of MiCableOnda was to design a centralized, user-first experience where customers could easily manage their accounts, stay informed, and resolve issues on their own terms.
From the app, users can:
- View and pay invoices: Access real-time balances, review past bills, and make secure mobile payments with instant balance updates.
- Locate Wi-Fi hotspots: Use the WiFi Finder to discover nearby Cable Onda hotspots and connect for free.
- Find payment centers: Access nearby physical payment locations using geolocation tools.
- Track technical visits: Receive personalized notifications with technician ETAs and the ability to reschedule directly in-app.
- Reset modems remotely: Instantly reboot Wi-Fi connections without contacting support.
- Access self-service support: Explore guided tutorials and live chat for faster troubleshooting.
Each feature was intentionally designed to reduce friction, empower users, and reinforce Cable Onda’s commitment to transparency and customer care.
AUDIENCE
The primary users are Cable Onda customers seeking quick, reliable ways to manage their digital services. They need:
- Real-time visibility into service status and billing
- Fast, flexible payment options
- Intuitive troubleshooting tools
- Direct access to support—without waiting on hold
By focusing on these needs, the design strategy centered on accessibility, control, and confidence—helping users feel in command of their services.
IMPACT
Working within Cable Onda’s brand guidelines, I focused on creating modern, intuitive, and efficient workflows that evolved the company’s digital presence beyond simple utility.
- Information Architecture: Streamlined navigation reduced user confusion and prioritized top actions like bill payment, Wi-Fi access, and support.
- Visual Design: The interface blends clarity and familiarity, maintaining brand recognition while modernizing the aesthetic through cleaner layouts, simplified icons, and accessible color contrasts.
- Tone & Interaction: Notifications and microcopy were designed to sound helpful, reassuring, and conversational, reinforcing trust and reducing the perceived complexity of managing telecom services.
GOALS
- Create a one-stop mobile experience for all Cable Onda customers.
- Simplify account management, payments, and technical support with clear, intuitive design.
- Increase user autonomy and satisfaction by reducing dependence on call centers.
- Deliver proactive communication through real-time notifications about service status, outages, and technician updates.
The resulting product experience transformed customer interactions from reactive and service-dependent to empowered and self-sufficient—helping users stay connected, informed, and in control.
